Three Basic Golf Tips
Just like every other sport, golf has basic rules that should always be followed. This is true, even if you’re not a competitive player and just like to hit a few rounds on the course in your spare time. These rules make the game fair, as well as challenging. And these rules make you respectful to the other players you are with.
Here are three such rules:
1. Don’t cheat by switching balls during the hole. The rules state that you must play the same ball from the tee off to the final putt. Wherever the ball lands on each shot, that’s where it’s played from.
2. Always carry a scorecard with you. It’s not absolutely necessary, especially if you don’t plan on keeping score. But having a scorecard is a great way to track your progress.
3. One of the best ways to progress in golf and to improve your short game is to compare older scorecards with your current game. In other words, if you just hit the course yesterday, and again today, bring along yesterday’s scorecard. You now have an opportunity to look at every shot made and improve on mistakes.

Great tips! I always keep my own scorecard.

Sometimes I don’t keep score I track different stats like number of putts, fairways hit, greens in regulation, ball flight patterns from tee shots and approach shot.
Over time I get a feel for my strengths, weaknesses, and tendancies.
