Going on a golf vacation? Check out the following tips from a friend who is a fellow golfer, and who takes two or three golf vacations a year:

1. If the whole family is going on the vacation, consider everybody’s like and dislikes. As hard as it might seem to you, they may not want to be immersed in the world of golf for the entire vacation. It’s possible to have a great time at local golf courses by planning your vacation in places that don’t include a private golf course. And doing this will give you much more variety in terms of the courses you play.

2. There are all kinds of golf vacation package deals available everywhere. You should seriously consider these because, as described in an earlier post about golf vacations, it’s possible to save hundreds, and perhaps thousands of dollars in vacation expenses.

3. Before you go, call the courses or resort and find out what the course difficulty rating is. Try to match your skill level to the appropriate golf courses. You’ll probably have a better time on your vacation.

4. Pack light. And obviously, include your golfing gear, your clubs, and any protective accessories, such as sunscreen, tape, and extra spikes for your shoes.

By considering these things, you and your family will have a great vacation and everybody should come home happy.
