Choosing A Vacation Spot Based On Your Golf Skills

Where you decide to go for a golf vacation depends on your personal preferences. You may feel that the ideal place for your golf vacation is a sunny and warm climate, such as Arizona. Or maybe you like a cooler climate, similar to what you will find in North Scotland.

When you finally decide on the general area for your golf vacation destination, then you need to as yourself some basic questions to help narrow down your choices. Probably the first and most important question you need to ask yourself is “How good am I at this crazy game of golf?”

Think about it. If you’re a relatively new golfer and you consider yourself a beginner, you don’t want to choose a vacation spot that has tought courses. You are just going to be miserable. The course will be tough and you may end up slowing the game down for other groups that are playing behind you. Who needs that? Remember–It’s your vacation!

You can get an indication of the difficulty level of any golf course by looking up the course rating and its slope number. If you find that the course rating number is 72 or lower, then the course is considered to be a moderate playing course. It is a course that should be suitable for players in the beginner to intermediate range. If the slope number is less than 115, then you should also find that it is acceptable for the beginner golfer.

Remember, your vacation is supposed to be for your fun and enjoyment. Do a little research and find courses that are good for your particular level of play.
