How Music Can Improve Your Golf Game
There is nothing wrong with playing golf or practicing while listening to music. You may find that it can actually help your game. A big advantage of listening to your favorite tunes while on the course is that it helps your mind and body to hit your shots on a more subconscious level.
If you listen to music, you may find that you don’t even think about the components of your swing. Since your mind tends to focus on the music, all the little details of your swing are pushed into the subconscious–making sure the clubface is square, your swing speed, your weight distribution, are you keeping your elbow tucked, and on and on.
Intermediate and experienced golfers might want to think about listening to something that relaxes their minds when they are playing. By letting the subconscious take over during your swing, you might just find that your swing will start to improve. If you’re not thinking about your shot, you may find fewer ruined shots out of fear or concern.
So find some good music, load up your mp3 player and head to the course or driving range. See how the music affects your shot. You might be surprised.
