Always Have A Target Line To The Hole

Every putt you take should be a straight one.  Okay, maybe your shot won’t end up going in a straight direction, but that’s not the point I’m trying to make.

What I mean by saying each putt should be a straight putt is that you should stroke every putt straight down the target line.

To hit a straight putt, you have to visualize a straight line that moves from the back of the ball directly down your target line. This straight line should stretch all the way to the hole. Or at least to a point you’ve selected so the ball will break to the hole.

To increase your odds of success, pick a point on the target line to aim at. Keep in mind that the target line doesn’t necessarily go to the actual hole. The target can be anything, as long as it allows you to get the ball rolling in the right direction to the hole.

I agree! Pick your line and stroke it on that line.
