Golf Strength Training Program

When I mention golf strength training, golfers run! I have come to the realization that golfers envision “work” when they hear this term, and not the benefits that will happen.

Any golf improvement program should incorporate some form of strength exercises specific to golf. This is a must due to the physical prerequisites the golf swing demands.

To hit the ball with force, power and ultimately gain distance, your golf swing muscles must be stronger. A weak golfer will never hit longer drives. Period!

Clubhead speed and ball/club contact dictate distance. The ONLY way to improve clubhead speed is a strength training program that incorporates stretching. This will enable you to make a FULL shoulder turn with a maximum of stored energy in your core.

The kind of strength training I’m talking about is NOT heavy weights or even going to a gym. With the use of exercise tubing, a ball and a pair of handweights, you’ll be able to do a golf specific strength training program right in your home.

The more you can replicate your golf swing motion with resistance, the quicker you’ll see results. There is golf posture; take-away; backswing; downswing; impact; and follow through.

Using tubing and dumbbells with the above positions will literally transform your golf swing into a power-generating machine.
